One of the foods I love is pizza...no if, ands or buts about it...pizza and I have a looooong relationship together. I know that ordering a pizza from Papa Johns or Pizza Hut would set me back HUGE. Making a pizza with home made dough is a better option, but still not good enough for me at the moment.
To satisfy my pizza craving I decided to use Buena Vida "For Low Carb Diets" whole wheat tortillas. One tortilla is 80 calories and the new packages now include 5 grams of dietary fiber instead of 3 (which is awesome).
I use Walmart's Pizza Sauce which is 30 calories for a 1/4 cup, but I only use 2 tablespoons per tortilla which is 15 calories.
I also use Walmart's Finely Shredded Pizza Blend Cheese which is 90 calories for 1/3 cup and I use the entire 1/3 cup...lol
I personally like pepperoni and for the first time in my life I bought Turkey Pepperoni and I have to admit it's good. It's only 70 calories for 16 slices which is awesome compared to regular pepperoni. I only used 4 slices of pepperoni and cut them up to put on top of my pizza which came out to 17.5 calories.
I did not feel like adding extra toppings at the moment, but next time I plan on adding onions and peppers. You can of course add the things that you love such as olives, mushrooms, spinach, etc. The more veggies the better and you can of course switch out the pizza sauce for light alfredo to make a delicious white pizza.
My pizza came out to 202.5 calories for one pizza and it was soooo GOOD! Granted, it wasn't NY Pizza or Pizza Hut, but it was good and it completely satisfied my craving!
